Amanda Verdoorn, CPA

Amanda graduated in 2010 from Northwest Iowa Community College with an associate of arts degree and, in 2011, from Northwestern College with a bachelor of science in accounting and, in 2013, from Colorado Technical University with a master of business in accounting. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, officer of the Trio Gio board, and a student ambassador while attending Northwest Iowa Community College.

Amanda worked in public accounting with Van Bruggen and Vande Vegte, PC for nine plus years, working in both tax and audits. She specialized in employee benefit plan audits and gained experience with financial statement audits. She also worked closely with the payroll department and reviewed the quarterly and year end payroll tax forms.

Amanda has always enjoyed getting to know her clients personally and established good relationships with them. She has appreciated assisting her clients with improved procedures and processes helping them learn to grow. She has a strong attention to detail and is very diligent in her work.

When Amanda is not working, she enjoys fishing, canoeing, or riding motorcycles with her husband. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends in the great outdoors.

Erika Lusk

Erika received her bachelor of science degree in accounting and her masters of accounting degree from Utah State University in 2009 and 2013, respectively. She was a member of Beta Alpha Psi while attending Utah State University.

Erika worked in public accounting with HJ & Associates, LLC and later Haynie & Company for nearly five years focusing on clients in a multitude of industries, ranging from start-ups to medium sized companies. She is detail oriented and enjoys learning about and getting to know her clients.

When she is not working Erika enjoys time with her husband and children, playing games, reading, and playing the violin in the community symphony.

Jessica Griffiths

Jessica attended Salt Lake Community College and Westminster College receiving an associate of science degree. Before joining MAC Jessica was the director of business development for a third-party health administration company and holds an accident, health, and life insurance license in the state of Utah. Her duties included managing over 100 employees across multiple departments, with a focus on accounting, quoting, negotiating, billing, and reconciling multiple accounts at once. Jessica excelled at implementing processes and procedures and developed a company-wide training manual that is still used today. Jessica is incredibly organized and focused on quality.

When Jessica is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and loves talking about her children’s accomplishments.

Kristin Chavira

Kristin graduated from Drake University, in Des Moines, Iowa, where she received her bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2003. Kristin also played on Drake’s division 1 softball team.

After graduating, Kristin moved back to her hometown of Houston, Texas where she worked for American Express in their accounting department. While at American Express, she completed special projects for almost a year before going to work for American International Group, Inc. (AIG) doing mutual fund accounting. After 2 years at AIG, Kristin worked for EPCO, Inc. doing financial reporting for the natural gas company, where she excelled at paying attention to detail.

While working at EPCO, Kristin got her teaching certificate and went into teaching and coaching. During her ten plus years teaching math and business classes, Kristin excelled at building positive relationships with her students and fellow co-workers.

After college and before having kids, Kristin enjoyed spending free time flying on her weekends and earned her private and commercial pilot license with instrument and multi-engine ratings. After having two beautiful boys with her husband Roger, Kristin now spends her free time with her family, running the kids to activities, and helping them become decent human beings.

Lalla N’diaye

Lalla graduated in 2021 from the University of Baltimore with a bachelor of science in accounting and in 2022 with a master of science in accounting, business advisory with a specialization in data analytics. She was the president of Beta Alpha Psi during her undergraduate studies as well as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Sigma Alpha Pi.

While completing her degrees Lalla started working in public accounting as an intern then started full time as a staff auditor in 2021 and later was promoted to audit lead. Lalla has experience in both audit and data science and enjoys helping others as a math, accounting, and information systems tutor.

Lalla loves teaching people but also learning about new industries. Her peers describe her as hardworking and detail oriented. She enjoys building meaningful connections with clients and helping them attain their goals.

In her spare time, Lalla enjoys cooking, hiking, camping, spending time with her family and reading. She loves watching and playing sports. Her favorite sport is soccer.

Shelby Wilcox

Shelby graduated in 2013 from Weber State University with a bachelor of science in business with an emphasis in human resources. While at Weber State she was a member of the society for human resource management (SHRM).

Shelby worked as a business office manager at Ogden Golf and Country Club for six years. She excelled at providing monthly financial reports for the company and oversaw all accounting functions and accounting staff, while also focusing on payroll processing, human resources, member billing, and budgeting. She is very determined, diligent, and loyal.

When Shelby is not working, she enjoys camping, exercising, and being with her husband and two young children. She also spends time on her in-laws family farm growing and selling beef and produce.
